Michelle Owens, Senior Auditor
Michelle has over 15 years experience in auditing. Prior to joining the firm, she was an auditor with the state of Alabama where she performed financial and compliance audits of various federal and state programs. Michelle performs low-income housing tax credit and HUD audits, in addition to reviewing firm audits. She also assists in the preparation of partnership tax returns and HUD filings with the Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC). Michelle graduated with honors from Auburn University Montgomery with a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting and obtained her juris doctor from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. Michelle is currently a member of the Alabama State Board of Public Accountancy and a special member of the Alabama State Bar. She also is a member of several professional organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants (AAA-CPA). Michelle is licensed in Alabama as a certified public accountant.
