ExperienceChelle Kenmore has over 30 years experience in the affordable housing industry. After graduating from Auburn University Montgomery, she began her career by working for a local firm which specialized in HUD related accounting services. Chelle formed Kenmore & Company in 1986.

Initially formed as a general accounting practice, the firm started concentrating on the affordable housing industry and added Rural Housing Service (RHS) audits and cost certifications to their services. The Tax Reform Act of 1986 created the low-income housing tax credit program, and the firm subsequently included audits, cost certifications, and carryover allocations of LIHTC properties as services provided by the firm.

As the firm grew, experienced associates were added to our staff. Our associates are highly trained and the firm is committed to obtaining timely and relevant education courses for all of our associates. We believe that this better enables us to provide high quality, affordable services to our clients.

We serve clients in many states and travel to most of the offices of the property managers or the properties that we audit. We currently service over 150 clients, many of whom have engaged us to prepare their housing audits and related tax returns for many years.
